Brand said, “what’s your rate?” Don’t panic-price it.

We unpack the Scope, your Edge, and the deal’s Fit, then turn the messy ask into a clear quote you can actually explain.

$12 first-round quote 10 spots total 24h after usable intake

Pricing rationale PTB—001

“What’s your rate for 2 vids + 3 hooks + raw footage? We’d also need 90 days paid.”

okay, so that is not one deliverable ↓

  1. ScopeWhat is hiding in the ask?2 videos, 3 hooks, paid use, raw footage, rush timing
  2. EdgeWhy are they hiring you?Relevant category craft and performance-ready editing
  3. FitWhat is worth saying yes to?Full brief plus a narrower option if budget is tight

You pick the rate. We make the logic make sense.

Scope sets the base. Edge sets your position. Fit shapes the deal.

Okay, what did the brand actually ask for?

Tap the signals you already know. We will show whether a human-reviewed, itemized quote fits this situation.

01 Is there a real inquiry?

This first-round offer is for creators making an active commercial decision.

02 What appears in the ask?

Select every item mentioned or implied. Unknowns can become clarification questions instead of free scope.

03 What outcome do you need?

This fit check does not ask for your name, email, brand name, contract, rate, or financial information.

Brief of the day

The add-ons making your rate card sweat.

Not a rate database. Three real-world UGC asks, slowed down into the questions and line items hiding inside them.

Yes, there is a real person behind this.

27 years of pricing the messy stuff.

For 27 years, I’ve helped price, propose, and deliver professional-services work, from complex enterprise engagements to focused work for founders and owner-led businesses.

Price the Brief brings that proposal discipline to creator work: make the full ask visible, make the reasoning clear, and send a quote you can stand behind.

The honest boundary: I’m not claiming 27 years of UGC pricing experience or one universal view of market rates. I’m bringing a tested way of turning messy service requests into clear, reviewable proposals.

Three things to clock before you type a number.

No magic rate card can see the whole deal. Scope, Edge, and Fit slow the spiral and make the reasoning visible.

What makes a good quote?

Real human eyes on the messy parts.

Price the Brief brings decades of proposal work to creator deals: make the ask visible, make the reasoning understandable, and give both sides a quote they can discuss. We do not invent your proof, choose your rate, or negotiate with the brand.

Why is the founding pilot $12?

The first ten quotes are priced at $12 because Price the Brief is validating the workflow and collecting feedback. It is a test price, not a claim about the long-term value or future price of the service.

Does Price the Brief decide what I should charge?

No. Price the Brief helps you reason through Scope, Edge, and Fit, then makes that reasoning visible. You set or approve every amount, creator claim, and assumption before the quote is complete.

What format will I receive?

By default, you receive an editable Google Doc and a matching PDF. If another practical format works better for the deal, agree it with us during intake.

What experience is behind the service?

Price the Brief was founded by Sidney Hori Hawthorne, who has spent 27 years pricing, proposing, and delivering professional-services work. It does not claim 27 years of UGC pricing experience or certify market rates.

What information does the pilot collect?

Only the scope, creator-provided proof points, deal preferences, and delivery email needed to prepare the quote. You may redact the brand. We will not request full contracts, addresses, banking information, tax details, identity documents, or account passwords.

How long is pilot information kept?

Intake and working quote content is deleted at the end of the seven-calendar-day correction window after delivery. Bounded payment, refund, consent, delivery, and deletion records may be retained when needed for accounting, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.

You do not owe the group chat another rate spiral.
